FEGIP – FEDERACIÓN ESPAÑOLA DE GUITARRA E INSTRUMENTOS DE PLECTRO

 

The FEGIP (Spanish Guitar and Plucked Instruments Federation) was founded in 1997 in Logroño (La Rioja) for the purpose of promoting the music which is performed with plucked instruments (especially mandolin, bandurria and guitar) in all its aspects: composition, performance, research and education. In addition it a imstointegrate all the plucked instruments associations from Spain, their promotionan and representation at nacionaland international level.

Therefore, the federation pursues some of the following specific objectives:

·       Integrate guitar, bandurria and mandolin into the education system of all autonomous communities.

·       Establish contact with publicand private cultural organisations in order to achieve the general objectives.

·       Publish a magazine of plucked instruments (Revista Alzapúa).

·       Promote the creation of a national plucked instruments orchestra.

·       Encourage musicologists and experts to research the history and original repertoire for these instruments.
